London Marathon 2023

As a small charity, we are not able to purchase charity places for the London Marathon.
We are therefore reliant on those supporters who gain ballot places, putting themselves forward to fundraise for the charity.
This year we are blessed to have Debbie Daws, Linda Donnelly , Kelly Hoare, Julie Ludlow and Michelle Watson fundraising for us, running the London streets, at the event on April 23rd.
Additionally Jennie Evans and Catherine Popplewell are fundraising in the Virtual London Marathon.
We would like to extend our thanks to all our fundraisers , wish them well with their remaining training over the next few weeks and of course on the big day.
This week we held a fundraising Curry evening, which was enjoyed by 32 attendees.

The Finish Line Frolic Race
Fancy some summer fun, and most importantly raising some money for a really important local sporting charity that continues to support sport in our local communities, the Finish Line Fund?
The Finish Line Frolic will consist of a traffic-free looped trail course and the event will give you the opportunity to run as many or as few laps as you wish, within the time limit of 6 hours. The loops will be a shade over 5km in distance and so you will need to complete 4 laps for a half marathon, 8 laps to cover full marathon distance, and then if you choose to continue, the clock will be your only limiting factor!
With an aid station at the end of every lap, you will have the ability to fuel yourself without having to carry everything you might need. You may leave a bag with your specific requirements at the aid station, for you to raid as you see fit! Alternatively, there will be flapjacks, fruit and nuts, and also water and squash, should you feel like a change!
PLEASE NOTE – In an attempt to reduce our race-day plastic waste, this is a CUPLESS event! We will provide all drinks and refreshments as per our usual aid stations, but you will need to provide a receptacle of some description. It can be a reusable cup, soft flask or whatever vessel you choose, even your very own running shoe at the end of every lap, but we won’t be providing any cups at all, and there will be no drinking from jugs either! We will, of course, be more than happy to assist you with the filling of whatever you choose as normal. If you wish, you are able to purchase a Hydrapak Speedcup online as part of your registration, or on race day.
An opportunity to run on a fast, lapped course, without the need to carry your usual ‘clobber’ and with a sought after, unique, bespoke medal, this promises to be a fantastic event for runners of all abilities. UKA Affiliated Member & Race Permit issued by TRA and a 100 Club qualifying event.

Hare & Tortoise join with Finish Line Fund to host race!
We are thrilled to have been asked to work alongside the Finish Line Fund to bring you the ‘Finish Line Frolic’. The event will be on 31/07 at Belchamps and all proceeds will go directly to the charity.

20 marathons in 2020!

Everyone at Finish Line Fund is naturally extremely thankful to Trustee Anne Purdham and all of her supporters upon the completion of her fantastic 20 marathons in 2020 fundraising challenge yesterday.
As the year unfolded with the cancellation of most organised events, Anne required even more determination and dedication to complete the challenge culminating in 5 marathons over the last 5 weekends.
A massive thank you to everyone who has supported the charity along the way , but the biggest thanks of course go to Anne on her fantastic effort. Special mention too to Graham for his wonderful support act!
Her fundraising page currently stands at over £2,800. A quick reminder as to what this and other fundraising efforts have funded this year:
